Information:
“Sega starts a £6m ad campaign next week for its Saturn games machine, switching its strategy to concentrate on its Japanese heritage and its computer games. The move comes as the computer games giants prepare for the crucial September to December period in the UK market… The new Sega TV ads, through HHCL Brasserie, use the strapline ëOnly on Sega Saturní. The ads feature Sega games which are exclusive to the Saturn machine and mark Segaís first advertising push for software in two years. The original £6m Saturn launch campaign through McCann-Erickson focused on the machine. ëItís the software that is going to sell the hardware now, and one of our main brand strengths is that we are a Japanese company,í said Andy Mee, Segaís European marketing director. A further execution in October features Segaís World Wide Soccer í97 game…
The HHCL Brasserie has turned around its first work for Sega Saturn after winning the £6 million pre-Christmas advertising in a pitch against the incumbent, McCann-Erickson, just three weeks ago. The 20-second ad, which promotes the new Sega game, NiGHTS, underlines the credentials of the game using a Japanese voiceover and text. The screen shows footage of the game. We hear a stern Japanese voice talking about it. His speech is, very loosely, translated into English a few seconds later… At the end of the ad, the screen is filled with copyright jargon. Within this copy is a hidden hint which can be read if the ad is taped and then paused. The location of the hint will be flagged by editorial in the computer press… The Brasserie will be launching three new ads in the run-up to Christmas, promoting Segaís World Wide Soccer 97 and a CD version of two arcade games.”

Haig ‘08 – Sid Haig’s Official Presidential Campaign Speech

Posted on March 20th, 2010 by admin

Brought to you by The Eerie Horror Fest-

My Fellow Americans,

I would like to put yet another Internet rumor to rest by saying that I am in fact running for President of the United States. This is not a “PR stunt” or a “joke”, and I am not simply “pretending to run to politically rouse my demographic”. Nor am I running under the character name of Captain Spaulding. I, Sid Haig, am running for President. That is a fact.

I have stated in the past that my hopes of winning are slim at best, but the only way we the people can send a message to Washington DC is for me to get at least 1% of the vote, not to be taken as a “joke”. Treating this country as a joke is what got us where we are in the first place, isn’t it? It’s time to stop that.

We can do this, if you all register to vote and then write my name in as your choice for President. It’s very simple. Just write it in. That’s it.

An overwhelming number of you have said that you agree with my position on taxes, health care, immigration and all the rest of the many things that we find wrong with the way the current administration is handling things, and I appreciate that. But to take that fire and snuff it by just laughing it off is counterproductive and will change nothing for any of us Americans.

If any of you really agree and “would vote for me if I was really running”, then now’s your chance to make your voice heard, because this is 100% real.

I hope this clears up any misconceptions about my campaign.

Vote Sid Haig in 08′.

- Sid

In this speech, Sid gets tough with politics. Included are his viewpoints on immigration, earmarks, the economy, marijuana, the war, and global warming and more.

how long does a vw beetle float? Just watch!

Posted on March 11th, 2010 by admin

Wanna have the DVD? Visit http://www.painteddesigns.nl
In July 2007, I received an email from Lew Wood, the actor who appears in this commercial. He tells:

I am the guy tha D-D-B chose to be the spokesman for that famous “Floating VW” TV commercial in June , 1972.
My name is Lew Wood, and I was doing commercials and V/O’s in NYC when I was booked for the job. We shot it at a launching ramp in Stamford, CT on LI Sound. The production crew was Horn-Greiner. Director Norm Greiner. D-D-B’s creative director was Tom Yobaggy. And even Mr. Bernbach was on the location!
They hired a stuntman to drive the VW into the water. However, Norm Greiner suddenly woke up to the fact that I had to deliver that last line “Now, what other car gives you this kind of quality at this kind of price?” from the car! I said, “Norm, I’m a sailor, I’m at home on the water. I’ll drive it in!”
I splashed it three times. (We used three identical Beetles, all burnt orange in color. Splashed two of them alternately, the third never got wet and was used for “beauty shots.” Swimmers went in to tow them back to shore after each take.
We all thought our commercial would win the “Clio” that year, but the “Snowplow” commercial took the prize.
However, the residuals were nice!
After many years of searching for a 1972 Super Beetle in burnt orange with NO RUST, I finally found one a few years ago in Vista, CA, and snapped it up. I now proudly drive around town frequently and get admiring looks.
Now, you know “the rest of the story!”

This commercial has a surprise in it. At the and you can watch a beetle being driven into the water. Funny is the text in the commercial says: allthough the beetle does definately float, it will not float indefinately. Fun!

From the DVD ‘Legend on wheels’. Wanna have this DVD packed with 2 hours of high quality digitally remastered old vw commercials? The DVD really brings you back to the ’60s and ’70s. Send an email to: beetlejuice150@hotmail.com
