CPAC underway in Washington DC
Posted on February 24th, 2010 by admin
During his presidential campaign, Barack Obama built a wave of energetic supporters that helped sweep him into office. But could that current be turning the other way? The conservative political action conference is underway here in Washington, bringing some new life to the Republican Party. John Dennis says the libertarian movement can get us out of this mess.

You are right, …
You are right, Libertarians want SMALLER GOVERNMENT, they want control of their own lives and not some bureaucrat deciding what is best for us whether we like it or not. e.g. Nancy

From what I …
From what I understand, the difference between liberitarian and liberal is liberitarians want a small government and liberals want a big government. Liberitarians would not want many public institutions while Liberals want more government institutions such as schools. Liberal politicians just want to have the liberty to have as much power as possible. I dont see the difference between most of the politicians in government now, it just seems like most reps. dems. are in the same party.

@chan0chap a 6yr …
@chan0chap a 6yr old could write subversive news against such an easily fallible and corrupt government as the USA. Such a great idea and such a lousy execution of good and honest morals. If it makes you feel better it’s not just the states, all countries have long since removed themselves from the people they are supposed to protect.
National governments are a long and sick joke. Community government is the only way to ensure the voice of the avr person gets heard.

@jlya2012 “Did he say he was a libertarian-conservative? Libertarianism is a very liberal position. Liberty–liberal–libertariani sm. Get it?”
Maybe you are from Europe in which case your confusion is understandable, but in the US, our Constitution is very libertarian in nature (limiting government). Hence, defending tradition (conservatism) involves defending liberty/libertarian ideas. This is a confusing concept to people from historically monarchist or socialist countries.

I don’t know why people are voting down your comment. The root of liberal and libertarian is both liberty. There’s definitely differences between the two groups but when it comes to civil rights they are both pretty close.
