Of their own personal money yes. Of campaign donations, yes with the caveat that Presidential Candidates who accept federal funding have strict limits on what they can spend from donations.

It is said that Obama promised in his run for the senate that he would cut taxes for the working class people, did he? Or did he not keep any of his campaign promises and fight for the real people to receive tax cuts and other benefits? My thing is that I want the people whose lives have already been affected by him to answer this question so I can have REAL facts.

I am from Illinois and we are fairly happy with Obama. Our other US senator is Dick Durbin. Obama is less liberal than Durbin, but Obama has shown he is a leader and has worked for our state. Illinois is the fifth largest state in the USA and Chicago is the third largest city in the USA. Illinois is a modern mix of rural and urban, and Chicago is the "city that works."

To the liar above me: Illinois property taxes went up because Illinois property values went up. Plus Illinois has to pay for all the earmarks like Bridges to Nowhere for tiny states like Alaska who get back twice what they send to Washington while Illinois gets back about 80 cents on the dollar. It sucks to be the worker bee that supports welfare states like Arizona and Alaska.

I am highly insulted by these people from tiny states like Alaska and Arizona who think they can question our state’s senator’s birth, ties to terrorists, experience, etc. How could someone get into the Senate here without all of this being vetted? Obama ran against some pretty nasty GOP candidates like Jack Ryan and Alan Keyes so why didn’t they bring this out then? It’s because it is all lying smears.

Playing on anxieties about national security, Clinton has produced a “red phone moment” advertisement that suggests she would be better able to respond to a crisis than Obama. “It’s 3 a.m. and your children are safe and asleep,” says a narrator as threatening music surges over dark black-and-white images.There’s a world crisis and the White House phone is ringing. “Your vote will decide who answers that call,” the narrator says. “Whether it’s someone who already knows the world’s leaders, knows the military — someone tested and ready to lead in a dangerous world.”
It ends with a photo of Clinton wearing glasses and picking up the phone.Later the Obama campaign released a new ad to respond directly to the one from Clinton’s campaign. It says in part: “It’s 3 a.m. and your children are safe and asleep. But there’s a phone ringing in the White House. Something’s happening in the world. When that call gets answered, shouldn’t the president be the one — the only one — who had judgment and courage to oppose the Iraq war from the start.” The commercial concluded, “In a dangerous world, it’s judgment that matters.” Clinton said he was “missing in action” on the recent Senate vote on Iran and missing in action as chairman of a subcommittee responsible for NATO policy in Afghanistan. Obama: In fact, we have had a red phone moment .It was the decision to invade Iraq. And Senator Clinton gave the wrong answer, George Bush gave the wrong answer, John McCain gave the wrong answer.

or just ignore them and consider the source?

I usually ignore them. I asked my 9 year old son why he supported the candidate he prefers. Part of his reason is that I do, but another reason is that the other guy has "bad commercials." Negative ads don’t work with kids either!
