Why would a foreign gov’t like China give large amounts of campaign contributions to US Politicians?

Posted on February 26th, 2010 by admin

In 1996, the gov’t of China gave at least $2 million in donations to Bill Clinton for his re-election campaign. (The money was illegally laundered through straw donors including John Huang, Charlie Trie, Maria Hsia, and James Riady all found guilty in a court of law).

Why would they do this?

To answer your question;

In China’s case, they bought Most Favored Nation status and ICBM technology from Bill Clinton

    Because it was in their best interest. Obviously a war-mongering Republican government is bad for Chinese business interests.

    Why do you think? They’re buying influence. That’s the normal way of doing business in a Communist country so they also try to do that here.

    obviously, I don’t actually know, but here’s my guess. China has interests in America, democrats,like Clinton, tend to be more leniant in foreign policy, and well for some reason they feel it would advance their interests. Think of it this way, the US has gone into other countries and supported revolutionaries for out interest. Cuba, Panama (the canal region) we pretty much just took and dared Colombia into fighting back, no one does anything for nothing anymore.

    To assure they continue to have "Most Favored Nation" status, even though they ignore "human rights" and commit abuses as part of their national policy toward their own citizens.
    They also want our government to step up the pace of exporting our jobs to them while they sell us inferior, unsafe, dangerous, and toxic products.
    They also want us to continue ignoring the fact that they have taken over Panama and the canal zone as well as many ports and communication networks in Central and South America.

    ‘Globlization’. China is now corporate state and the business of a corporate state is business. Finding allies in various governments is good for business. This is a lesson that US corporations learned long ago..which is why the US is also a corporate state. You can forget about the ‘communists’ and you can even forget about the ‘capitalists’……at least the capitialisim you learned about in high school. Today’s corporate capitalisim is a totally different critter. Sucess has less to do with production and more to do with tax breaks and ‘deals’. The object of corporations is to grab market share…that’s why you see one corporation buying out another for billions of dollars…billions with a ‘b’. They don’t need to produce more stuff to sell. Automation has made it possible to produce 100% of everything that needs to be produced and at the same time laying off huge slices of the work force, or forcing them to accept lower wages and benefits. China has an advantage because they can use slave and semi-slave labor..something that US corporations would also do if they could get away with it. Of course this ‘question’ is just another stupid dig at Bill Clinton….a guy that hasn’t been in office in seven years. At least Clinton attempted to cut the best deals he could for the American wage-earner…the main reason that the corporartion ridden GOP wanted him impeached….looking out for wage-earners is the last thing these corporate criminals want.
