Does suspending a campaign mean suspending ads as well?

Why are there still McCain ads on TV, and why is he still giving interviews, if he’s suspending his campaign?

He was trying to fool Obama into pulling his ads…um didn’t work

Because it was a plot, it is hilarious how he canceled on Letterman and then appeared on CBS for an interview with Couric AT THE EXACT SAME TIME.

Suspending the campaign means McCain is using this crisis as a talking point to prove he puts "America first". Ironic that now his campaign is saying he is suspending his campaign.

Of course I guess he couldn’t "suspend his campaign" long enough to vote on any of the alternative energy legislation that he supposedly is in favor of and is running part of his campaign on. His campaign says energy independence is a matter of national security, yet he chose not to put America first and vote on it.

As long as his supporters eat this garbage up, he’ll keep spewing it.

No, he’s just going to stop traveling state to state and not give speeches for a while.

Of course it does if he really means it.

Suspending the campaign is an opportunity to ignore Senator Obama. This is classic Jim Crow. Pretend African Americans don’t exist.

It means he’ll be in Washington, ostensibly to work on a solution.

I’m not sure why he’s being criticized for that. Isn’t that what he was elected Senator to do? Weren’t the candidates, all of them, including Obama and Hillary all criticized for keeping their Senate seats despite the obvious fact that they’d be absent from any proceedings for months?

So why would he be criticized for limiting his "job search" activities to actually go and do the job he currently has?

By the way… you’re missing a great opportunity to blame Bush for something, since it was his idea that McCain and Obama come back to Washington until this gets resolved.

McCain is treating his candidacy like a basketball game. When he found himself trailing at the crucial stage of the game, he calls a time-out.
