Where can I find stuff about campaign contributions made by these?

Posted on January 31st, 2010 by admin

FOX news
CNN
MSNBC

I need to find out how much money they gave to each party during the 2008 election..
I can’t find anything =/
Ag M- Yeah that’s what I need to know. I need to know how much money they have given to each party, not necessarily the candidates. I guess the 2008 election isn’t needed, but just in general. How much has these channels given to each party?

Most of these corporations give to PAC’s (Political Action Committees) I know that when I was researching donations I found that Rupert Murdoch (owner of Fox) contributed the maximum amount for an individual of $2,000 to Hillary Clinton and $2,000 to John McCain.

SEM Question – Can you have two different campaigns appear on the same SERP?

Posted on January 31st, 2010 by admin

I have two different campaigns with AdWords and some of the campaigns have overlapping keywords. Each campaign is for a different website. If a user searches for that keyword is it possible for both ads to appear on the same page, or will only 1 ad appear at a time?
Also – if it’s not possible for this to happen, how can I make it to have two ads appear on the same search results page? What’s the best way?

I’m guessing that google limits displayed ads to 1 per account, otherwise someone could push out the competition by taking all 12 page one positions.

I have heard that the accumulated quality score for a given keyword applies to all campaigns. Suggesting bad ads on one campaign getting poor ctr would effect a winning campaign sharing the same keyword.

Who do you think is conducting a cleaner political campaign: Hillary or Obama?

Posted on January 31st, 2010 by admin

I think that the Clinton’s are claiming that they are the victims of vicious attacks from Obama. Then they take a few hard swipes back at Obama… However, when I check the facts, I don’t see where they are finding their accussations. I think they’re making them up so they can play the victims and take some cheap shots at Obama.

Obama. At the beginning of his campaign, he told paid staffers they would be fired if they broughtb up any form of negative campaigning. To date, one has been fired. Definitely, Obama.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (Commercial, 1980)

Posted on January 30th, 2010 by admin

Here’s a commercial for Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups featuring another cheezy late-seventies robot and the old “You got my chocolate in your peanut butter…” routine.

This aired on local Chicago TV in April 1980. (Although the commercial has a copyright of what looks like 1978 or 1979)

Peace Through Strength (1980 Political Commercial)

Posted on January 30th, 2010 by admin

Ronald Reagan’s television spots were not particularly artful. The centerpiece of the campaign was a conventional biographical ad tracing Reagan’s career and crediting him with reducing California’s deficit while lowering taxes. The ad’s main purpose was to show that Reagan—best known to the public as a movie actor—was also an effective governor.

The rest of Reagan’s ads were simple but effective variations on the central question he put to voters: “Are you better off today than you were four years ago?” A variety of attack ads reiterated the main problems of the Carter administration: high inflation and the hostage crisis. One spot, credited to “Democrats for Reagan,” included a clip of Ted Kennedy shouting, “No more Jimmy Carter!” during the primary campaign. An unusual negative spot featured Nancy Reagan lambasting Carter for his “vacillating” foreign policy. Though it is common for advertising to feature a candidate’s family members, spouses rarely appear in attack ads.

Reagan’s campaign took advantage of a loophole in federal financing laws designed to limit overall campaign spending. These laws placed a ceiling on the amount of money that could be contributed directly to a campaign, but they also permitted the creation of political action committees, independent groups whose expenditures in support of candidates were not counted against the spending limit. PACs spent a total of $12 million dollars on Reagan’s behalf, compared to less than $50,000 on Carter’s.
